Yes, I’m talking to you!

There is so much that is wrong with the world today that I’m glad I never had children to worry about. So many people are consumed by greed and have lost all sense of community, thinking only of themselves and their needs instead of being a good neighbor. I’m not remotely religious, in fact I am completely the opposite although two of my best friends in the world are Catholic priests. So let me say this; I am an atheist and I’m proud of it.

I am also profoundly offended by the egregiousness of the Bush/Cheney administration and their contempt, not only for the Constitution of the United States but their complete disregard for the rules of law. Everyday I see something or the other that makes me wonder what we have come to and how far we have gone down the slippery path towards our own destruction. Historically we are heading for a revolution which is what always happens when the rich have so much and they flaunt it in the faces of the poor. Economically the United States is totally unsound with borrowings at an astronomic level to finance the global expansion of a regime corrupted and controlled by big business. Our president and Vice-President are no more Repuplicans than Al Gore; it is a badge of convenience worn to disguise the soul of a plutocrat whose only goal in life is to get richer and exert more power.

If you are a Bush supporter, then you are in denial and either totally naive or completely stupid. If you support him because he is a ‘man of god’, then you are a bigger fool than I first thought. His religion is a tool that he has been told to use to get support from those stupid enough to believe it. Cheney is the biggest threat to world peace since Hitler; I’ve no idea what his motives are and he scares the hell out of me. Bush doesn’t scare me other than he does what he is told by the people who are pulling his strings but Cheney is terrifying and, if I was religious, I might believe that he was the antichrist.
